KKKK-KEEPING UP

The latest Kardashian Kollection, spring/summer 2013 touched down in Australia this week, a shoppable $59.95 entry price range of tight skirts, draped blouses and tailored anchor items tuned to the KKKK sisters’ snappable wardrobes.

MILO ELDER, executive editor of cutting edge zine 7/62 magazine filed this report – words and pictures – from the KKK front line.

The Kardashian Kollection made its debut on the final night of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney. Unfortunately the three famous sisters were not to make a personal appearance, but instead appeared via projection to deliver a pre-recorded message to the audience. “We see you, Australia!” A smiling Khloe greets us, “You all look so cute.” A montage of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian modelling the Kollection in a photo shoot follows.

Finally the curtains open, and out roll ornate mini versions of Paris’s Eiffel Tower, London’s Big Ben, and New York’s Chrysler building. This is impressive. The show is global themed, Chanel inspired, clearly Kardashian; lots of sheer blouses with blazers, bodycon dresses, leather skirts and pants, all staples of the sisters’ wardrobes and part of their core style, watched avidly by fans since 2007.

Next trends are monochrome, leather, neon, leopard print, some crowded together on one garment. Hits for some, misses for others. The more understated garments however, and some exciting luggage pieces, have the potential to bring in customers from beyond the Kardashian fanbase.

Overall, the collection is young, sophisticated, versatile and an absolute step up from their last collections which received less then stellar reviews, even from dedicated fans. Yes, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have excelled and their spring/summer 2013 Kollection is a must see for any fan trying to keep up with the Kardashians.

The collection is being racked now. Stockist info (02) 9299 1881 and Kardashian’s facebook page.
