Fashlab

Fashlab is a community/network established in Melbourne to share knowledge, advice, news and mentorship across Victoria’s small scale fashion and related creative industries.

Fashlab is free.

Fashlab members are a mix of veteren and new creative business people. They share their priceless anecdotal knowledge and contacts face to face under an agreed code of trust, discretion and non-disclosure.

Fashlab’s range of themed conversations is infinite, from starting out, to closing down, and every trick of running and growing a creative industry business inbetween.

Fashlab topics continue evolving as fashion and creative industries evolve but currently include all imaginable aspects of:

  • Social media and online marketing including establishing and building identity and brand with tools including targetted content, podcasts, gaming, collaborations and videos
  • Retail variables including E-commerce, vertical bricks and mortar, mixed studio/atelier outlets and pop-ups
  • Exporting variables and best steps to global reach,
  • Sustainability and ethical production and supply compliance,
  • Sourcing for small and mid-scale manufacturing
  • Near future issues likely to affect our businesses

Fashlab gatherings are currently scheduled every fortnight on Zoom. Invitations are sent out a week ahead of meetings to members registered on this link.

Fashlab is a two-way touchpoint for potentially helpful entities such as the Australian Fashion Council, Melbourne Fashion Week, Melbourne Fashion Festival and relevant creative and trade arms of state and local government.

Fashlab warmly welcomes new members who feel they can contribute to the high quality and use-value of knowledge and information we exchange.
