Covid safety protocols offered an odd silver lining for Voxfrock Rookie photographers Andy Tran and Reannon Smith. They got a rare-as-hen’s-teeth opportunity to crew with international fashion photographer and creative director Sonny Vandevelde. Sonny was commissioned to direct three digital “runways” in exotic local locations for the Melbourne Fashion Festival‘s half-and-half online and IRL programme. Andy’s photo essay of Sonny’s crew shooting ethereal frocks by Paolo Sebastian, Steven Khalil and Toni Maticevski between the misted shadows and towering trees of Warburton’s romantic redwood forest follows here. Meet the rookie
Andy Tran (pictured below) graduated with a photography degree from RMIT. He specialises in fashion and travels widely with his camera, exploring every opportunity to expand his range of work. This is Andy’s third turn on the Voxfrock Rookie crew.
