MBFWA Carla's Way

It’s the shaggy end of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia and that’s our cue to cherry pick the best bits from Voxfrock‘s current favorite shooter, Carla Iurato‘s portfolio. The young Melbourne fashion photographer, a former Voxfrock rookie and protegee of RMIT photography guru Monty Coles, is shooting into a bright and prosperous future based on what she defines as; “capturing the unseen stories in the fashion world.” Which is precisely the nature of her MBFWA gallery. Carla says she uses colour, particularly, to evoke mood in her work and finds the creative mechanics of film also seep into her approach to fashion photography. Her inspirations are drawn mostly from art photography (no surprise there); Bill Henson, Sarah Moon, Viviane Sassen and she recently interned as in-house photographer to avante garde classicist, designer LUI HON, testament to her blossoming reputation as a thoughtful creative. Carla is currently completing the final year of her Bachelor degree, photography, at RMIT University.
