Adidas held an intimate press showing last night,
at the recently rebuilt Bondi Life Saving club. The sun was shining, but the new season was shining brighter.
I spoke to Elizabeth O’Neill, PR manager for Adidas:

“The Adidas AW/14 range has been heavily influenced
by the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Adidas is sponsoring, as it has for many previous years.
“We started as a football brand, so for us there are many key pieces from this season highlighted by football and Rio, where the world cup is being held.

“You can see the theme continue through
Adidas Originals, and particularly in the designer collaborations – typically Jeremy Scott, with the hibiscus print. We have also collaborated, for the first time, with Farm, a well known Brazilian retailer famous for its prints. They designed many of the tropical pieces. It just goes to show that these big world sporting events, similar to the Olympics, really have a knock-on effect into fashion.”

The Brazilian flavor wasn’t restricted to the apparel
. Guests were treated to cocktails, tapas, and the beautiful ocean views of Bondi; daydreaming of Rio!

Adidas’s stand out collaborators for this offering are undoubtedly Jeremy Scott and Stella McCartney. McCartney lowered the vibe with simple colours, and beautifully practical sports gear.

Jeremy Scott on the other hand, turned the volume UP with loud prints, wild track suits, and incredible sneakers. I personally look forward to investing in one of his bold tropical jackets. It’s THE print of next season.

Overall, the casual yet eye catching Adidas aw/2014 collection is effortlessly cool and original.
