#Model, MTV host and active philanthropist Kate Peck has joined the charitable Band4Hope initiative as ambassador. The copper and zinc wristband-swap network was founded by altruistic entrepreneurs Lachlan McWilliam and Lucie Galt to promote “hope and altruism, as well as ethical trade”. Pop-cultural luminaries including Vivienne Westwood, Annie Lennox and Lily Cole are participants in a swelling band of royals, rock stars and artists sporting the bands which are handcrafted in Zimbabwe and inspired by traditional bone cuffs worn by the Himba people of Namibia. Each band (pictured) has a unique ID, which can be tracked on the Band4Hope global online map. As they are passed from person to person, the theory goes, they inspire hope and new acts of kindness. Bands are $25 with part of that donated to charity. When a band is gifted on, the recipient is also encouraged to donate, www.Shop.Band4Hope.com.au.

#Karl Lagerfeld will design four pod collections for Brazilian shoe brand, Melissa, which manufactures entirely in ethically-produced, bubble-gum-scented plastic. This week, “Kaiser Karl” released preliminary sketches (pictured) of some ideas including a flat, dagger-toe slipper, double-strapped high-heeled mary-jane and a witty twist on the classic high pump with glitter detail and heels sculpted as ice-cream cones. Mr. Lagerfeld explained his inspiration was Brazil’s “joie de vivre”. August is the likely release month for his first Karl Lagerfeld for Melissa pod; www.melissaaustralia.com.au.
