Colliding Creatives

Two exuberant designers from opposite ends of Australia smashed their brands together for one joyous all-in knock-out runway show on the Melbourne Fashion Festival‘s Independant calendar.

Perth designer Kaye Guthrie Adonis of AKA.ARTWEAR and Melbourne local Jaki Ristevski of SMENA pursue fun and art with punkish fearlessness.

This week in a jam-packed sold-out three-runway show at the Collingwood Yards, they premiered a new joint brand, aptly named SMAK, with the latest collections of AKA.ARTWEAR and SMENA.

Hand-painted designs, sculpted leather separates, off-beat tailored silhouettes; the exuberant fusion of fashion and art is typical of Kaye and Jaki’s separate and joint collections high on self-expression, experimental concepts and sustainable practices.
