Alexi is the newest member of our rookie crew of future fashion photographers and journalists, mentored by Monty Coles, Janice Breen Burns and Chrissy Dore. She works as an artist and photographer and strives, she says, “to visually disclose the esoteric moment in fashion” in her work. Alexi is also studying toward a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Victorian College of the Arts and works with fashion designer Hoshika Kawabata of E.S.S.Laboratory.

Her first assignment, Vault runway in Melbourne’s exotic Block Arcade, is one among dozens of Fashion Culture events programmed as part of the festival and already peppering the city and suburbs. Vault is National Trust – Victoria‘s retail outlet, racked with wearable pre-loved vintage treasures of exceptional rarity and fine quality. Manager Jack Fordham curated the cream of Vault’s current crop for the runway, co-hosted by fashion journalist and commentator Alexia Petsinis with the head of luxury at Leonard Joel Auctions, John D’Agata. Australian fashion legend Prue Acton joined them to reminisce about her iconic career and classic models including former Australian Ballet artist Carol Green, set the fashions in motion through the iconic Victorian architecture of the Block Arcade.
