Meet our newest VoxFrockers, Sophia Matelli and Emma Sinclair, a remarkable pair of young creatives bringing a unique POV and off-key artistry to our crew’s coverage of Melbourne Fashion Week.
We commissioned Sophia and Emma to work in a tight crew of two, honoring their practice, since graduating together from RMIT in 2022, of intense creative collaboration. Two of their projects, for example, editions of a hybrid fashion and cooking magazine published under their Look! Book brand, were presented at the National Gallery of Victoria’s Art Book Fair. This is where we met, where we were deeply impressed.
“We have always had an interest in fashion,” they explained. “And were able to explore this deeper through Look! Book...working with designers and creatives in the fashion industry to create a visually immersive experience through photography and interviews, collage and graphic design…”
This week we plunged Sophia and Emma hooklineandlenses off the virtual twin cliffs of fashion journalism: runway and streetstyle photography. They excelled. From the cramped media riser at MFW’s Ganbu Marra show, to The Lume’s forecourt at the Student Collections show, this is their lovely mash of artfully captured images.
Bon Appetit! Check back daily for more from Emma and Sophia and daily coverage of MFW 2024 by the VoxFrockers.
