Mr. Murphy triumphs, Icebreaker cracks on in Aus., Mr. Esber’s pre-season pod is on Jasu, Kirrily Johnston blitzes online, and Please Louise save some (ridiculously cheap) shoes for me

##Haircare and fashion entrepreneur Kevin Murphy won Best New Product for the second consecutive year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) in Sydney.KEVIN.MURPHY FULL.AGAIN was judged by a global panel of experts impressed, says his release, by “its innovative rayon particle based formula and weightless thickening properties, designed to deliver natural body and movement.” KEVIN.MURPHY took out Best New Product awards in 2010 for NIGHT.RIDER and in 2012 for YOUNG.AGAIN. The former Queensland hairdressing apprentice has climbed to icon status in the past 20 years. His award-winning product range, established in 2003, is stocked in 30 countries, and he is renowned internationally for his celebrity clientele and regular commissions on runway, editorial and film projects including, most recently, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (pictured) www.kevinmurphy.com.au.

##New Zealand Merino sportswear brand Icebreaker will open its first Australian store in Melbourne’s Chadstone shopping mall next week. Icebreaker recently whipped up a flurry of indignance after being cited – allegedly – by Pippa Middleton (she of smashing bottom and close-connections-by-marriage to the throne of England) as one of her fave thermal brands, especially for skiing. The Spectator column, published on April 6, continues to tease up speculation about the bona fides of its author, not to mention some marvellous PR for the venerable Icebreaker brand. www.spectator.co.uk, www.icebreaker.com

##An hour into Sydney designer Kirrily Johnston’s first online warehouse sale, her weblookbook was already a swiss cheese of “out of stock” dots. The site offered discounts of 20 percent on existing sale items from the spring/summer 12/13 Kirrily Johnston and Kj collections, including, for example, the delicate silk chiffon mesh Butterfly Field dress, effectively reduced from $525 to $100. The stock may technically be “old” but Miss Johnston’s infusion of a certain timelessness into her designs, apparently rendered such fractional prices beyond resistable. The sale continues (yes! skates on!) until Tuesday, April 23. www.kirrilyjohnston.com
